Using laws of angular momentum in Physics (no kidding!)
(m*v1*v1)/ r1 = (m*v2*v2)/ r2
Where,
vX = Velocity of Vehicle X
rX = Radius of the Turn for Vehicle X
m = mass of the vehicle
We know
v1 = unknown
r1 = 4 mts (from 2 lanes away, 2 meters per lane)
v2 = 81 mph (measured by speed gun)
r2 = 6 mts (from 3 lanes away, 2 meters per lane) |
Therefore, putting in the formula above,
(v1*v1)/ 4 = (81*81)/ 6
v1 ~= 67mph (66.13 to be more precise), which is around the speed limit of (65 mph).
Hence, my lord, I was NOT SPEEDING!!
The original traffic violation ticket was $250 and 4 points, the court date is today and my friend is going to argue his case as above! Any guesses on what the outcome will be? The results will be updated by EOD…

A very close friend of mine has the exam of her lifetime Monday morning. She has been studying (yes, its THAT kind of exam) very very very very hard for it. She has only seen one movie per week on an average for the past 3 months and that, in my book, is a BIG sacrifice. Kudos!
