I come from a small town in India, which is incidentally also the capital of Uttaranchal. The city has probably doubled in population from 1 million people in 1991 to around 2 million in early 2005.

I love the place but every time I go there, the sluggish pace of development bothers me.

Here are some that I would love to see in the short run

- Better net connectivity

- Fighting poverty through micro-finance

- Better emergency response infrastructure

- Lesser pollution
